About Me

Hello! My name is Kim Larsen. I was born and raised in Sidney, Nebraska, and still call Sidney home, where I live with my two French Bulldogs. I’m a lifelong Nebraska girl with five grown children and 15 years of experience in the educational field. Education is my passion, and I’m excited to bring my experience and enthusiasm to Leyton. When I’m not teaching, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, reading a good book, or watching a great movie. I’m also a huge baseball fan! My guilty pleasures include Diet Mountain Dew and watching delightfully terrible reality TV. I’m so excited to join the Leyton community and look forward to an amazing year ahead!.

Philosophy of Education

I believe every child has the potential to learn and thrive when they feel safe, valued, and supported. In my classroom, I strive to create an environment where every student knows they are safe, loved, and respected. I believe in fostering curiosity, encouraging risk-taking in learning, and celebrating each child’s unique strengths. My goal is to help students build confidence, develop a growth mindset, and cultivate a lifelong love for learning that will serve them well beyond the classroom.
