About Me

Growing up in a small town in Northeastern Colorado, I am very familiar with the benefits and challenges of being a member of a rural community such as Leyton. While I have spent the majority of my professional career as a firefighter and paramedic, I always loved teaching. When I decided to make education my career, I knew I wanted to teach in a small school and embrace everything the community has to offer.
During my off time, I enjoy camping and hiking. Every summer, I try to climb at least one of Colorado's amazing 14ers. When I am not able to get outside, I enjoy creating amazing experiences in the kitchen and sharing them with my family and friends.

Philosophy of Education

"The value of a college education is not the learning of may facts, but the training of the mind to think" -- Albert Einstein.

I cannot think of a better way of summarizing my educational philosophy. The most import things for our children to learn today is how to apply the information that is readily available to them. This allows our young people to see the interactions between all systems and can lead to a new and unique way of appreciating the wonder of our universe.
